After poor DEF quality message appeared, returned home and dropped car at Ourisman Chevy after talking to service advisor en route. Code P249D. Trech says there was a crack in the old DEF resivour that caused the pump to fail. Replaced DEF module kit under warranty.

Clean NOx sensor 1. Soak with Lucas diesel deep clean/injector cleaner, then spray and wipe with carb cleaner. Perform NOx sensor 1 reset in Gretio app.

Replace coolant reservoir cap. Motorad/Carquest #10271. Coolant had been low with moisture condensate on underside of old cap. Added 1qt distilled water.

After same Poor DEF Quality Message reappeared, brought vehicle back to Alexandria with speed reduced due to speed reduction countdown. Brought Vehicle to Ourisman Chevrolet in Alexandria, VA. Techician diagnosed that: 1) Whites Chevrolet had not completed the DEF fluid quality test properly because if they had, they would have discovered that; 2) the SCR catalyst was bad, along with the NOX2 sensor and the particulate matter sensor. On my request, technician replaced sensors first, and ran DEF quality test, vehicle failed that test. Then technician replaced SCR catalyst and vehicle passed DEF quality test.

Emergency Service: After Poor DEF Quality Message appeared, followed owner manual and added fresh DEF. Message initially disappeared, but reappeared and set the speed reduction countdown. Brought vehicle to Whites Chevrolet in Roanoke Rapids, NC on trip to Raleigh, NC. Vehicle serviced; technician replaced DEF resivour, module, and injector. This repair proved ineffective as the same message reappeared after approximately 60-miles into trip back to Alexandria.

Replaced rubber bellows and anti vibration sleeve. NAPA #81666A ACDelco Silicone brake grease. Old grease caused the anti vibration sleeves to swell and drag brakes. Right rear parking brake still inoperable.

And re grease brake slide pins front due to sticking/hot wheel. Regressing ineffective. Need new pins and silicone grease. Retightened left strut mount nut on 8/23. Nut had loosened to be 1/4” off the mount. Torqued to 48 ft lbs from Haynes manual. Also re-torqued strut to body nuts to 52 ft lbs (Hayes). Used blue loctite on all nuts.

Removed blower motor due to squeaking at low speed. Used syringe from West Marine meant for fiberglass resin to inject grease into exposed bushing. Grease was from Oregon grease gun (blue). Inspected cabin air filter, moderately dirty but replacement not necessary. Syringe was only cost.
