07/06/2010 Fitted new cone filter (replacing K&N Panel filter), require new carb gasket which will be fitted when it arrived. Hopefully this resolved any vacuum leak there may be.

Speedo wasn't working when refuelled but started working after 30miles or so. Filled with Sainsbury's Super Unleaded and fuel used over the course of an organised Mini Rally.

76,945 miles speedo cable snapped, never been a very accurate speedo do that probably explains it. New cable on order but not able to fill in fuelly for a few days.

Major service between fill ups. New plugs/leads/dizzy cap/oil/oil filter/ suspension grease. New tyres too. Bit of idling charging battery and time and testing MOT items. Car should now be ready for MOT.

Noticed engine was running poorly, spark plug 2 had started to break down causing the engine to run on 3 cylinders. Substituted the plug with an older spare I had lying around.

Not sure if fuel leak is cured but It seems to be, no sign on garage floor. Just short trips, scooting about between my house and girlfriends (2miles) and back and forth to work (3miles) Lots of idling while helping a colleage start their car, plus tuning carb as throttle cable was needing trimmed. Filled car up with Sainsburys Super UL as it was only 2p a litre more and the higher quality fuel seems to make the car run smoother in this cold weather.

Partial fill to check the fuel leak is fixed. Engine still needs a bit of a tune up, so will be tweaked during this tank.
