replaced the clutch, timing chains, a few intake manifold gaskets, front main seal, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, clutch master cylinder, pilot bearing, water pump, coolant, lower radiator hose, front differential fluid, and oil. Timing chain has been ticking on start up, seems like a normal problem with 2.5l vitara's. clutch pedal was getting hard on the knee and at 100k was definatly due. clutch was starting to hit the rivets. throwout bearing was not sliding very well there was no grease on anything, master was leaking because it was so hard to push. resurfaced the flywheel which was $80 bucks cause it has two stages. The main timing chain was not tight on either side of the center idler gear. The #1 tensioner is usually to blame. The water pump has 2 seals one for the coolant and one for the oil, to replace it you have to take the timing cover off, for 45 bucks i figured since i was in there i would replace it too. replaced the timing chain, tensioners, and guides with a kit. When holding the new and old chains together i saw a big difference in length. once together the chains were much tighter than the stock ones. This was a big job taking me tons of hours, but after the expect noise at start up once oil pressure made it around everything quited down and sounds great. Hardest parts were the O2 sensor plugs behind the motor probably an hour on each side getting them seperated. the ac compressor bolts aren't too bad with a swivel headed ratchet wrench. noticed a tad more torque/hp and that it shifts in to each gear much easier. before i had to go to 4th before reverse or it would grind, now it just pops in no grinding, which tells me the clutch was not releasing fully. hopefully it will last another 100k
