Gordon is retiring from service at a mere 118,800 miles and will be passed on to a new owner who will hopefully care for him and love him as much as I did. Gordon replace Smokey who c=gave sterling service up to 225000 miles and I am confident Gordon will achieve the same sort of mileage with regular maintenance. Gordon is replaced by Wilma, a 2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV, which on day one is already showing 88 mpg and better suits my lifestyle as I need room for the wife's wheelchair and a higher more accessible seating position for her. Free road tax and the incredible fuel economy, with free electric from my home solar panels make it a no brainer decision. Had Vauxhall given the Ampera 5 seats instead of four, and the capability to tow a trailer I might have stuck with the brand, but after nearly 20 years of Vauxhall I have defected to the east.
