I love diesels. I have a 98' Jetta TDI, 00' Jetta TDI, 86' F250 Diesel, 99' Passat 1.8T, 71' Ford Torino.

I made a few modifications to my 00' Jetta for improved economy. Straight pipe exhaust (removed mufflers and cat), low rolling resistance tires, increased flow airbox. Those three things, combined with a disciplined driving style has improved my economy from the low 40's to the low 50's. 75% highway 25% city.
