I have recorded every drop of fuel put into the vehicle since I bought it new on 12/31/2004. I always drive the car until it is empty and when I fill up, I use the button in the fuel filler neck to release expansion air out of tank and always fill it to the brim. I travel constantly, but not always in this car. That is why there will be several months in a row that I do not fuel up.
Driving Habits: I never drive over 68mph (70mph per the speedometer) for longer than it takes to pass someone. The vast majority of my miles are driven on cruise control at 65mph (per GPS). I always travel with 50 to 200 lbs of tools in the back. I sometimes haul a 5x8 utility trailer, a 6x10 enclosed trailer, a 2-wheel car dolly, a canoe, a kayak on top, and a kayak on a trailer which has dropped my average by about 3.5 MPG.
