Hello folks!
I guess I should tell you why this Metro was getting such bad fuel economy. First, the fuel injector was leaking by, and letting too much fuel into the engine, and secondly, the #2 piston was severely damaged, cause it to burn oil, and I am sure it was scraping the cylinder wall.
I have repaired all the deficiencies with a complete rebuild (yes, it took me over 1 1/2 years, but I am a busy guy)
I replaced the pistons and rebored the engine to .020 oversize, replaced all the internal engine components, and rebuilt the head. I replaced the intake manifold, and had to replace the fuel pump (it sat too long). I am waiting for the fuel pump screen, and fuel filter, and I will fire it up. I have started the engine with ether, so I know nothing is knocking around anymore.
