I was born and spent my early life in northern Illinios. I joined the Navy just prior to the Pearl Harbor attack and retired after 20 years of service. I worked in vocational education for 22 years for the Memphis City Schools and retired from there in 1984. I was an aircraft mechanic during WW II and still do a little work maintaining my vehicles.
