I note the type of gas and the brand of the station on each fill up. This means that the MGP quoted is off of the gas purchased and noted on the preceeding fill-up. My to work and back driving requires about 150 miles per month and consists of driving up and down parking garages. This means the lower my miles driven for the month, the lower MPG I expect because of all the uphill and city driving. Months with over 250 miles consist of a larger proportion of highway miles so I would expect MPG to be better.
