Update: Vehicle officially retired July 1, 2011 with honors. It served me valiantly and relentlessly in its 5 years and 4 months of service. It's been in motorcades with presidential candidates and saved me from rising floodwaters. If this car could talk, he'd tell you stories you wouldn't believe! The night of its retirement, I realized how attached to this vehicle I was, and quite frankly, it brought me to tears when I was handed the license plates as a souvenir. The black paint was a pain in the ass, but the hours spent caring for it in late nights at the car wash and the money spent taking care of minor dings, dents, and scuffs, all paid off because it looked really sharp in the end. In fact, my meticulous body care and engine maintenance fetched top dollars on my trade-in, well over the average price appraised by Kelley Blue Book.

Alas, all good things must come to an end. It really sucks to part ways with this vehicle. It's served me well, and it will serve the next driver well too.
