Fillup a month after getting my car back from getting fixed. And by "fixed" I mean it got a new engine. Awesome, yeah. New engine supposedly had "right around 100k" around it, and even after pressing the guy he said it was nearly exactly 100k. With the new engine came a new timing belt, fluids, etc. etc.

The timing belt tensioner seized and caused the water pump to fail. I pulled the car over quickly enough so that no damage could be done to the rest of the timing system. We were out of cell service so long story short: tow truck was called by a passerby, he came while I was off with someone else making a phone call, he subsequently proceeded to start the car. Reports of my then-girlfriend (wife now!) were that there was a lot of weird noise, clanking etc. Essentially it was the car blowing itself up. Car was towed to a random GM dealer while we went home for Thxgiving, they then also proceeded to attempt to start the car and told me there was a compression problem (oh really?? after you bent half my rods?) but couldn't test vacuum properly (they said they've never touched a german car before, wtf). It was then towed by AAA to the nearest guy who could fix an Audi (90 miles away). Car took a full month to fix, we decided to replace the thing with a used engine instead of fixing heads. This guy at least knew what he was doing.
