I commute 46 miles one way, 40 miles of which is highway and I try to maintain a speed of 55-60mph depending on traffic. I have lots of larger hills in this commute, which definitely kill my mileage. I could drive slower but the 5 speed gearing doesn't seem to like 55 as much as 60. So best gas mileage is either 40-45mph or 55-60mph. I think if I could have commute with no elevation change my mileage would easily be in the 40's.
