Criteria for getting and staying on the overall histogram

What criteria need to be met to

A) Make it onto the overall or model year histograms

B) Stay on the overall or model year histograms?

C) How does the site handle a massive mistake post (like someone who posts their initial car mileage (50,000 miles) inadvertently as a fuel up, thus having 2,500 MPG for their first fill up?

I've read that you need 3 fill ups to get onto the histogram, so I think that answers A.

Do all cars stay on the histogram or are there criteria for dropping "inactive" cars or accounts?

Yep, you have it right. You need at least three fuel-ups to show up in public browsing. All vehicles in public browsing show up on the model year histograms.

If someone has a wild MPG, it could show up on the histogram but it will be obvious that it's an outlier. That graph is showing you how the fuel economy numbers group together.

We don't drop inactive vehicles. The data is relevant for that model year no matter when the fuel was added.
