Too large a fuel tank for Fuelly.com

I have an aftermarket fuel tank (Titan fuel tank) on my 3500HD Silverado. Total capacity is 234 litres. My last fuel up was 160litres. Fuelly won't let me add the fill-up as the interface says 'too large a volume for your truck'. I emails Fuelly.com, no response. Any chance of getting a change made so that trucks with larger tanks can continue to use fuelly.com ?

Sorry, we're not going to make that change so I don't think Fuelly is going to work for you. We need to have some data limits so people can't enter completely bogus data, and all of our assumptions are based on a standard family car down to a motorcycle.

You could definitely build an application that would handle different sizes, it's just not on our short term or long term to-do list. I think down the road it might be nice to track any type of vehicle with any tank size—we just don't have the resources to do it right now.

Sorry about the slow response to your email. We're just getting through a holiday weekend here, and we're not as quick with responses as we should have been.

234 litres! That must add some weight! 6 times bigger than my fuel tank, and it would cost you $424 USD to fill it over here!

Out of interest, what is Fuellys Maximum Capacity?

Right now it's 140 liters/36 gallons. Yeah now that I look at it, maybe we could raise that a bit without throwing things off too much.

I don't know what some of the bigger pickups use but if they have dual tanks I would think it would be more than 36. 50 gal might be a good limit! LOL!

my uncle has a 93 f150 with dual tanks. i believe they are 30 gallon tanks. stock.
my father has a 2003 f550 with 50 gallons stock. reading the manual, that truck can carry about 125 gallons with the optional tanks fitted

I don't want to see that gas bill lol

However, I too think it would be a good idea to go to these limits and then that's it. it's not like this tanks are rare.

i think it should be a limit based on the vehicle. a car, even a v8 car, will not have a tank larger than 16 gallons 90% of the time. a truck though, can come with a 32 gallon tank standard
