This could be very informative. Is it supposed to be an overall setting or can it refer to individual fills? I have often added notes to my fills when my driving for that period has had an unusual split between city and highway. I can certainly see the difference in MPG or L/km.

OK, just re-entered the initial fill and it seems to have worked this time.

Yes, I did an initial entry on acquisition October 25 )or possibly a day later) showing the initial odometer reading and a full tank. I can only speculate that your system rejected the entry for some reason but it did give any error message at the time.

Re another option: But that's exactly what I did! On my next fuel-up Fuelly still did not calculate the MPG.

You are quite right jhu. It was my turn for a typo. I actually used the "correct" 87 mpg figure in a message I sent to the owner of that Civic but somehow it became 48 in my forum post.

Thanks mathowie and pb.
Rather than block questionable input perhaps an "Are you sure?" routine if the mileage was (say) 20% better or worse than the average of previous fills?

I buy gas at a Grocery Store gas bar and get a 2 cent/litre coupon. They buy their gas from the same refineries and I have not detected any difference. Even before the coupon their price is usually lower than the competition.
