Fuel Consumption on High Altitude

Well I live in Bogotá, you'll know that this city is located on the Andean region, its located on 2600 Meters (8612 ft) Above the sea Level, at this altitude sports people who are not acostumed to it find some minor difficulties breathing. On mechanics things are the same, actually automakers like Renault release their spec sheets with performance figures at sea level, because road tests done on near Bogotá show lower max speeds and slower 0-60 times. The big question for me is ¿how does altitude affect my fuel consumption?
