Gas Prices down along with Mileage?
Same here, as the temps went down and first the Ice Storm, then the heavy snow storm Friday, my milage droped to 16mpg. I figured it would be lower as I had to putter all 54 miles home at 20 mph on the highway and the stop and stop trafic jams.

Synthetic motor oils and MPG
I for one, prefer the good old oil. I commute 120 miles a day with the majority being on the highway. So every 3 to 4 weeks I give the car an oil change and filter. 157,000 miles now and it doesn't burn a drop and the engine looks clean. Of course this is a 1990 car. The added cost of the more frequent oil changes is well worth the security of keeping the engine clean and running right.

Need help.
My car calls for 32 psi cold. It doesn't say what temp cold is though. So during the winter I run at 35PSI and winter on my winter tires at 32PSI. This will also depend on tire size, weight of car, outside temp. my car weighs in at 3800lbs. So I want as little rolling resistance as possiable.

Warm Up or No?
With most newer cars having fuel injection, I just let mine run till the RPMs come down to 750RPMs. That is the normal Idel RPMs for my car. It also gives my Mark VII time to pump up the air springs and the Hydro brake system too.
There are many reasons that vary per car as to how long to let it warm up.
exception: If it is snowing or freezing rain. I will let it sit till it starts blowing warm air for safetys sake.
