I do plan to clean it and replace the drive shaft seals while I got easy access to it. I will probably clean it up real nice since it will be a while before the swap is attempted anyhow.

It seems I will be getting a job that I will need an automatic for.

Thanks for the response. I thought maybe the tranny mount looked like it was bent a up a little. I thought that it was supposed to align parallel to the barcode sticker that is on there.

I didn't even realize the bearing was in there until I just now checked. I only pulled out the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate and fondled them for a few minutes.

I thought it looked off kilter. Damn. Looks like I will have to get all new mounts anyhow.

I believe that I will need 3 mounts (front side rear) just for the tranny is that right?

What year car would I need the mounts off of? Or is it better to go after market?

I purchased my mounts from a guy that was doing a B-series swap in a 90 Civic STD hatchback. Don't forget to get the rear mount AND bracket.

I do think the mount is bent.

The ding near the axle hole isn't too bad - try popping an axle in it without bending it back first - you may be ok - it looks like its just a dust seal.

I recommend taking a flat head screwdriver and scraping off as much of the caked up gunk before you go spraying the thing down with brake cleaner. You'll use a lot less this way, and it's about $3/can.

I can't really speak much on the transmission by just looking at it's exterior. If you plan on doing a rebuild, then I'll be more than happy to help you (as best I can). It looks like you got a great deal, just take your time with it.

Unfortunately I found out that my clutch will not fit on the input shaft of the 88HF tranny that I got.

The clutch, as well as the pressure plate and flywheel are off of an 89 Honda kit.

Would I be able to use the other parts and possibly just get a new clutch instead? What parts (if any) will I be able keep and not have to replace?

The flywheel is actually from an eg I think. All 90-00 flywheels are the same besides the cx and vx being 3 pounds lighter.
