92 vx oxygen sensor

I already tried searching on ebay for the L1H1 O2 sensors. I did not find any oxygen sensor for sale. I searched at advance auto parts and they say they have a 5 wire bosch o2 sensor for the vx for $200. Is this the correct sensor? Someone please point me to the correct sensor. I don't want to pay $400 dollars for a o2 sensor but I do want the correct sensor.

The five wire VX specific NHT o2 sensor is available for $99 shipped!

June 11, 2009: EDIT: Bummer, The $99 o2 sensors are no longer available, they now have NTK-NGK @ $190, so the deal is gone ;( .

You paid double the price of what you could have. I have put this information up on the forum several times and it was easily searchable. http://www.gassavers.org/showthread....2&highlight=o2 The NHT o2 sensor is available for $99. At least three members have ordered it and can vouch for it. Here is the cut and paste from the above thread:

The sensor is visually identical to the l1h1 oem Honda that was on my VX and is stamped made in Japan with an internal resistor. I ordered it from this company: Right here>>>> http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Aut...t=5&scat=20363

o2 sensor is plug and play, everything matched. After installing this sensor the VX mileage jumped from about 40.5 to 44.8mpg on my first partial tank. More noticeable is the improved engine throttle response in the crucial lean burn rpm zone in the 1500 to 2500 area where I had a bad stumble...

Probably not, but the o2 sensor listed just below the five wire for $74.15 might be a match: "OEM Part #: 36531-P8A-A01
4 Wire Oxygen Sensor 92-00.

The five wire one for $99 specifically says: "Does Not Fit Vehicles w/California Emissions." So if you've got the CA version VX ecu this is not the right one, the wiring is not a match.

There is one major caveat to the above, most if not all 1992 CA VX came with a five wire 02 sensor pre-wired and in place. You just have to swap out the ecu to the fed version to activate "lean burn" and that is an easy upgrade.

If you've got another year of the CA version, this is the time to consider if you want to do the wiring change to install lean burn. Several threads on topic searchable.
