Anyone willing to loan a tach?

Hello all,

My friend and I both have 94 civics and need to adjust the idle. I was wondering if anyone had a digital tach they would be willing to rent out through paypal or something. The cheapest ones I can find are more than $40 and that is a lot for a one time job. I realize I'm new to the site but thought I would ask anyway. I have seen the inexpensive ones that use reflective tape but don't know how well they work. Thanks.

well if its a one time deal and you get the tape to stick at the right spot then i wouldnt see a problem with em...you MAY be able to buy a cheap $30 or less auto tach and wire it up and get the rpm signal thru the AHDL connector for a temp quick solution...

have you checked www.harborfreight.com for anything?

Harbor Freight has a 2" tach for $19.99.

Re: Anyone willing to loan a tach?

I bought the DMM with inductive clamp from harbor freight and it does not work right. I want a digital read out so I guess I will try one of those reflective ones. Thanks for the suggestions.

Perhaps you could just adjust the idle to the lowest rpm that it will still stay running even with the lights on and the blower fan running.
