Post Found something about my Cavalier that surprised me...

While looking at my coolant temps on my s/g, it struck me that the car seemed to be running cooler than I expected, with temps in the 180s-190s range. I did a little research, and found out that the car is equipped with a 180 degree thermostat from the factory. This surprised me, as just about every car I've dealt with in the past few decades has been equpped with a 192-195 degree stat. I mulled over replacing the 180 stat with a higher temp one, but in hitting the parts books I couldn't find a suitable higher temp replacement. Oh well, guess I'll be like the Beatles and just "let it be."
