So i can use my starter? yay... thank God i don't have to buy another part and sell the other. As for the hubs, i decided to swap them to the hf units just because they're lighter (any weight off will help). i might as well buy a whole bushing set while i'm at it . so yes, i'm going to use the hf axles by swapping the whole hub assembly, brakes, caliper, arm, into my car (i'd do anything to reduce weight on this car).

As for the wiring.... it sounds like a nightmare, but i won't get discouraged. i'm going to pick up some obd1 ecu clips later this weekend. I rarely have time spend on my crx, but i'm willing to put my blood and sweat in this project. So everyone, just throw in as much info about your experiences and knowledge about this swap or any similar swaps. i will update when i get into a dilemma.

also, what engine mounts will i be needing?

Your current engine mounts will work. You're going to have to remove the timing belt cover in order to put on your existing engine mount on the z1, but it will work. I'm talking about the engine mount on the drivers side. It will sit a little crooked, but it will work just fine.

okay. so this weekend, i finally had a chance to work on my car again for just a measly few hours. i finally had a chance to check out my suspension, and to my surprise, my bushings are all corroded and cracked. does anyone know where to buy decent after market bushings, or should i stick with expensive oem parts?

Do a search for Prothane - they make great urethane aftermarket bushings. But you better have a press handy, as they can be a booger to fit.

I decided to take off the whole si front hub/arm/disc brake/calipers/etc assembly to fit in the hf drive shafts on my HF transmission. i'm going to trade them in for a set of lighter HF front suspension components, and to easily install my drive shafts. i also found out that my HF tranny has the California final drive... that sucks. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to swap in a non-cali 5th gear on my HF tranny? And if so, where can i get the parts?

I finally bought my Si engine harness on ebay (i don't wanna say how much $$ i spent), and all new engine mounts + the transmission mount.

Is it the 5th gear or the FD you want to swap out? You're going to need to find someone that's breaking an HF transmission. I'm not 100% sure, but it shouldn't be a problem fitting the new FD and/or 5th set.
