Seafoam?

I went and got sometoday. Of course then I start reading up on it and see the negative posts. Anyone have any negatives about seafoam? Or should I just do it and hope for the best.

I don't think it's going hurt anything, but everything I've read says to use Auto-RX and to skip the seafoam.

i use seafoam before every spark plug change. it cleans everything out very nicely and i have NEVER seen anything bad happen from using it.

one guy said he blew his head gasket and tried blaming it on sea foam but it was on its way out anyway with oil found in the coolant before hand...

seafoam is good. I did it on my previous car and it went with no problems.

I seafoam my cars at least once a year, usually right before emissions. 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the crankcase, and 1/3 in the vacuum line. Change the oil after a few hundred miles (I usually time this right before an oil change).

This past year, I also poured (slowly) 20 oz. of water into my throttle body.

I hear from others that have used it that it tends to clean out stuff from the gas tank and clog the fuel filter pretty quick.

Then change the fuel filter after a couple weeks of running seafoam.
