Re: Check my new vehicle

All our truckers had to install catalytic converters to meet the n-e-w (n-e-w because the idiot environmental whack-o politicians come up with something new every few months) mandated "clean Idle" technology. You get to play that game?

Wouldn't it be neat if you could test...

Improves Fuel Economy
(The advanced synthetic technology used to engineer AMSOIL Premium 5W-40 Diesel Oil enhances viscosity properties and is proven to deliver better fuel economy. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency?s (EPA) Federal Test Procedure confi rms that AMSOIL 5W-40 Diesel Oil provides up to 3 percent better fuel economy than conventional 15W-40 diesel oils. At a mix of 55 percent city/45 percent highway driving, the average improvement is 1.6 percent and at straight highway driving the average improvement is 1.25 percent.
Fleet Savings vs. conventional 15W-40

1 Truck

50 Trucks
Fuel Economy Savings (1.6%) $945 $47,250
Extended Drain Savings $210 $10,500
Total Savings with AMSOIL $1,161 $58,050

*Based on 120,000 miles per year with an OEM-recommended drain interval of 10,000 miles. Avg. 6 mpg, 32-qt. oil sump, $3/gal. fuel, $34.10/gal. AMSOIL (Retail), $13.55/gal. conventional diesel oil. Does not include labor, filter or used oil disposal costs, making AMSOIL even more cost effective. Pricing samples taken April 2009.)

nah. florida doesn't have such legislation. but, my company had opted for "clean idle" trucks using low sulfur diesel.

"Clean Idle" is a national law now, isn't it?

Re: Check my new vehicle

Just noticed your old truck. You and I have another thing in common. We deliver odd-ball jobs for a purveyor of vegetables to restaurants. They have fun signs on their trucks:
