Mine has a better color scheme, but this is almost exactly the configuration of my truck.

What would you suggest to improve mileage?

swap the canopy in favor of a kam back, Lower 6in the rear, 5 in the front, Lrr tires and a tall airdam

Shatto, I recommend everything Jay suggested, but most importantly...adjust your driving technique. That's where most of us find the most improvement, and what most of the discussion on this forum covers.

Ditch the mud flaps. (aka parachutes)..

When I took mine off the rear wheels, they left an opening back to the rear underbody, so I cut the flap part off the rear flaps and just left a nub.

I think it might be better for the aero and will likely keep the rear bumper from collecting a ton of snow..

Good point. I didn't think of that because I don't have mudflaps on my truck. Those are some nice tires you have there though. What flavor truck is it?

Also when modding a truck consider blocking wheelwells and installing a belly pan. I'd like to do a belly pan, but I'm still mentally designing it. I don't want the exhaust to melt coroplast, but also I would still like to maintain easy access to the spare tire should I ever need it. Right now i'm thinking I'll leave a hole for the tire to go in & out, and then have an oversized coroplast disc that is secured to the bottom of the spare so when the spare is winched into place it pulls the disc with it to cover the hole.

It's a 1999 Honda CRV (mini-SUV) with 1/3 pound of tape and coro..



But, I did dump a lot of weight when I pulled out the rear wheel drive hardware. Maybe 130 pounds..
But it wasn't just the weight, all those shafts and the rear diff were putting a big load HP on the engine too.

I'm getting about 33ish highway now and shooting for 35..

Nice looking partial block on the wheelwells. Matches the truck well and has an almost stock appearance. I'm toying with fabricating something for the wheelwells on my truck.

I could eleminate a lot of weight by dumping the spare tire and jack and I would weigh less if I dumped my hand truck and the coolers.
No, wait! I use that stuff, and the high shell, for work.
Darn. Have to do something else!

XRinger,
Longer mud flaps is what would keep the snow off the inside of the bumper. I would have suggested narrowing the flaps.
Remember to wash the inside of the wheels to remove the salt.

I've been driving gently for years. My problem is the super-sensitive electronic throttle on the Tundra. Any suggestions if it can be de-tuned?
