Laminar vs. Turbulent Flow: real world test

After reading about the drawbacks and advantages of turbulent and laminar flow I decided to give it a real world test to see if makes any difference in my application.

I installed a trip device to disrupt the flow at the point where in theory the laminar flow transitions to drag.
