Are you planning to leave the cap and equipment off? If so, lowering the rear should be very easy. It is on other pickups where I've read about it...there's usually a few different ways to do it for free/cheap.

On the T-100...it's not so easy to drop the rear down on the 2WD as the spring perches are on the bottom of the axle. I could put some blocks in between the axle and the springs (which drops the shock plate closer to the ground) but I'm not a big fan of blocks and the safety hazards that go with them. And...I would have to git longer shocks fer the rear. Besides...I need the utility of the bed and will need to carry my tools and gear at some point in time.

I'm currently working on building a lightweight aero cap (not fer security) that I can easily take apart and store when I need to...

The first step I'm doing is making a half tonneau to test my rail system.

Safety of blocks depends on the blocks and installation. the big 3 all use blocks on the larger trucks, granted they're steel or cast iron and beefy as all get-out, not extruded aluminum like most for sale.

a guy in my school just had to replace a set because the road salt and water collected in the cavity and they corroded the aluminum away and one side partially collapsed.

They also exaggerate axle-wrap and wheel-hop, though I doubt you do too many burnouts on a FE-minded truck.

Hay you guys I have a Chev S10 with a 4 cyl 5 speed that is baceuallt the same truck and If I am really careful at high atitudes it does 37mpg and I was wondeering if yuo have tried any thing like gas shut off switch, or the hydrogen injecting , any of the performance chips or the high flow exaust systems with any good results?
I would apperacate any for thought you have .

No...I haven't tried those things because they don't have anything to do with my belly pan thread.

Since I went with the metal stud frame work...I didn't git a real chance to update my engine bay belly pan. So I found some materials and finally fit it to my new framework. I was able to reuse about 50% of the existing materials.

This was prior to required trimming to clear the tires when turning. At least it's smooth now..
