What would you do with your aero gains: Spend them, or save them?

Let's say hypothetically that you improved your car's aerodynamics enough to see a 15% FE improvement at 90 km/h (about 55 mph) compared to before the mods.

In other words, you could now drive somewhat faster, and still get better FE than you used to get prior to the mods. Or you could find the new, maximum speed at which you achieve the same FE you used to get at 90.

So, what would you do?

Take the fun poll!

Dude, max FE FTW. I have something to say but right now I'm looking for a connector to fix where I messed up the push button start and I might be done wiring on my tuck so no time to think!

I thought the thread was about what would you do with the money you save from the aero mods. I would get ****faced. Nothing like hugging the toilet to celebrate the end of a work week.

It depends, if I'm still on diesel, then mpg FTW. But if I can get a recycling contract with a restaurant and run WVO, then it'll be 50mpg@70mph on free fuel FTW. Although I might try and see how much I can eek out from a tank, that's always fun.

I would drive the same speed, reap the benefits, and buy a ferrari enzo (7mpg) as a reward for my innovations.

I would find the speed where the increase in FE would be cancelled (via A-B-A testing) and then do a cost benefit analysis and then a Pugh concept selection.

You'd have little choice in the matter, unless you were going to use the brakes more
