I have a battery charger that used to be my grandfather's. Its probably 50 or 60 years old.

If you are going to drain the crap out of a lead acid battery you have to do it fast, a light bulb won't drain it fast enough. The desulfation process involves trying to break off the buildup with bursts of high voltage, if you discharge it again you are just putting the sulfate right back on the plates. Once you get enough of a discharge on a lead acid it is highly likely it'll never be the same again. Even a desulfator can't get it all off.

Draining a lead acid down is bad for it.<---PERIOD

Yup, I try to keep my batteries well-charged, but I sometimes fail and I hate having to throw away a battery that was recently fine.

That GIF in your sig is cool, what's it from?
