If there just going to adjust the price

Under this plan, states could allow gas stations to adjust gas prices to account for temperature. If the gasoline is warmer than 60 degrees Fahrenheit, you'd get a discount. If it's cooler than 60 degrees, you'd pay more.
for temperature I think it will cause more trouble than it worth and in the long run we will probably be paying more than we are now. One things for sure they are not going to lose money off of it.

theclencher -

I heard about this. I guess the old adage applies here :

"The early bird gets the most gas for the dollar at the pump when it looks like it's going to be a hot day ahead, except when they have those crazy cheap gas days, in which case the early bird needs to live near the station to still get the cheap gas".

Isn't one of the points to store gasoline underground is to reduce temperature difference?

Our physics teacher told us about this.

Simple solution. Fill up your tank in the morning. For proper FE analysis, it might also be a smart idea to fill up at the same time of day.

Use a coriolis mass flow meter instead of a volumetric flow meter and be done with it already.
