Used? I checked a few eBay auctions and saw $30-$60 for this type of motor. Plus shipping.

Not really sure. I'm kind of hypermiling it.

That's pertty cool.

I'm not sure but $30 - $60 would probably be less than registeration and taxes in MA.

Still, It'd be nice to have on my canoe on this lake.

...or maybe I should put one on my Force5 as a generator and charge up the battery (yes, that's assuming I make the huge sacrifice of sailing all day)

Would you seriously have to register an electric canoe?

I went for a long (maybe 10 km) solo canoe trip across the lake to a hiking trail today. Used the motor about half the trip.

Power storage courtesy of 2 of the junky floodies the forklift company donated. Biggest downside: weight. Those 2 batteries weigh more than the canoe!

Yes, but they are nice when they are working with a head wind.

Joining the club

Got this on ebay for $10, (paid twice that in shipping).

We were paddling the squareback canoe last weekend and trying to fish in a breeze, wasn't working too well.

Also, I too am looking for any excuse to say I have an electric only vehicle I came pretty close to doing the gomi bike. The wife would have KILLED me if I brought a motorcycle home though, money aside...
