GMC acadia denali 2015 large fuel consumption

Hello, I'm sorry for my English, I'm from Poland. I bought a GMC acadia denali used from 2015. Large fuel burning city route around 11 mpg quiet driving, has anyone any idea what is the problem? My mechanic does not see the problem, the computer does not show the error. Regards Daniel.

Hi, Daniel. Check your tyre pressures. If they are okay then jack each wheel up, in turn, and check you do not have a brake dragging.

Hi Jacko, thank you for the advice. I replaced the tires, brake pads and front discs mentioned. I will check the rear brakes and the rolling resistance of the wheels. I will answer after checking. Regards.

Hello, the tire pressure is correct, the wheels have no resistance. The car consumes 10-11 mpg. I was with another mechanic in Poland who claims that everything is OK and GMC Acadia has fuel consumption. please, some advice.

Fuel consumption depends on how you drive. Lots of acceleration and sharp braking uses more fuel than taking your foot of the accelerator pedal early and slowing without needing to brake. Drive like a train. Smooth, brisk acceleration, without flooring the throttle, cruise on a light throttle, then anticipate when you need to reduce speed so the use of the brake pedal is minimised. Every time you brake you produce heat which has taken petrol to produce.
Google "Hypermiling" for some good tips.

Thank you for the advice, I tried it already. After refueling and resetting the meter, a slow, gentle ride, I did not even overtake for the test, I could not go below 11 mpg. Regards Daniel.
