You can filter by fuel type + engine right now. If you go to any vehicle listing page, look for the filtering controls at the top. They look like this:
You can limit things to a specific year by clicking any of the year headlines on a particular page. For example, here's the page for Toyota Camry. Down the page you'll see headlines separating the different years: 2011, 2010, 2009, etc. Click any of those years to get to a page that just lists that model year. For example, here are all 2008 Toyota Camrys.
But what about a range of model years. For example all 1998 to 2002 Honda Accords because those model years represent a particular generation of Honda Accords. And filter by engine size because my Tundra (and many pickups) are available with two or more different size V8 engines. This would help to compare models with the same engine size.
I see, we do have constant requests to track more data about vehicles. There are dozens more things we could track. Engine displacement is one, trim levels are another, turbo, spoilers, octane level, tinted windows—the list goes on and on. We made a choice early on to try to make the site as simple as possible for people who aren't car enthusiasts. That meant making some brutal choices about what we track and what we don't track.
We know that the site won't appeal to everyone for these reasons, but we hope by keeping things simple that people who aren't car enthusiasts will feel comfortable using the site. By offering too many choices, we could turn people away who don't even know what engine displacement is.
We don't have a way to limit the view to a range of years, sorry about that. It'll take some clicking around to compare.
