No partial fills

I really like this site. But I have avoided using the partial full up option for 3 reasons: 1. I want immediate data; 2. I'm not sure I trust the algorithm not to skew the data, because I've seen some really wrong entries when comparing with other Accords of the same year, and just other cars in general, which I can only attribute to bad data entry or bad calculation. I rarely partially fill, and when I do, I fill to an exact gallon mark rather than a dollar amount; 3. I trust myself to save the correct data and enter properly, since I'm more concerned with tracking MPG than costs, and I was tracking it long before I found this website. My one experience with using partial fill I didn't like and deleted. I just add the gallons from my partial to my complete fill checking total mile run since last total fill. Works better for me.

I do the same.

Why don't fuelly sum the last fullfill with the partials to calculate de MPG of the period?

It needs to be the following full-fill (rather than the previous one), as per:

A 1st Jan 40 litres/400 miles full fill

B 1st feb 10 litres/100 miles partial

C 1st mar 10 litres/100 miles partial

D 1st apr 40 litres/400 miles full fill

A - proper mpg available

B - cannot calculate mpg in isolation

C - cannot calculate mpg in isolation

D - cannot calculate mpg in isolation

B+C+D - can calculate mpg (60 litres/600 miles)

But yeah, I have suggested this in the past & it was rejected since you no longer have the 'one tank - one mpg figure' relationship & makes things more complicated to understand.

MMUK, in all entries A,B,C & D, the mileage is 10 MPG. MPG can be calculated if you know mileage and gallons/liters used.

Not sure why you say it can't be calculated in isolation.

(Just to be pedantic, it's 10 miles / litre not gallon).

>Not sure why you say it can't be calculated in isolation.

Because it's a partial tank, that's the whole point.

@JDaugherty - he purchased 60 litres, it doesn't mean that's necessarily what he consumed. Unless you fill the tank every time it's impossible to tell specifically what you used.
