Partial Fill Up

Hi I'm looking for some info I recently done a road trip and so decided to do some partial fill ups to save having to stop to fill up and also to benefit from cheaper gas.

I thought I read that fuelly was able to calculate the MPG taking into account the partials after a full tank I put the partial tank details into the system. it doesn't appear to be the case looking at my stats its assumed all miles were from the last tank

I don't see any miles (or rather, odometer) entries for those fuel ups. Did you note those at the time?

I have one of the readings is that what you need to do to get it to take into a/c all fill ups?

Zero mile/no odometer entries are skipped because there's no way for Fuelly to calculate MPG.

Ive just done another long road trip this time I collected all the data to ensure I get a correct MPG reading.

I'm getting a little confused with how to add a tank top up.

Normally I fill up and drive till its about as low as it can go then input the data.

When I go on a road trip I always fill it up before leaving if I know I can't get there on whats in the tank.

I'm just doing all the fill ups now and the first one shows 17.5 mpg is that right?

You can only input the data once you've driven so many miles AND filled up with fuel, otherwise how do you know how much fuel you've used.

An example scenario, full tank, start trip. Decide to fill up again whether your tanks a quarter full, half full or even three quarters, it matter not. Brim the tank and make note of both miles driven, and fuel used. Input that data, fuelly does the rest. It's very simple. A partial fuel up is only if you don't fill the tank completely.

I just looked at your figures, they are way off. I see your best as 96 MPG in the Passat, with over 1300 on one tank, although that's been done in a Passat diesel, yours is gas so I'm assuming that's way off!
