Search by Area...

Can you guys provide us a way to search for driver's from your area (province/territory or state) therefore having a better idea what people from your area are getting for mileage ???

I'm sure some drivers will like this.

Are there not too many factors, the first being that there are thousands of cars on the road, to get any benefit from this?

I would appreciate seeing statistics by area. Manually, I have noticed that Outbacks in California seem to get much better gas mileage then we do on the East Coast. I have PZEV on my vehicle, like what I understand is required in California, so I would like to see if the difference in gas mileage can be attributed somehow to region.

In terms of climate, how similar is your local climate to California's 'warm-all-the-year-around' weather?

Lambanlaa is near me, so I can say that compared to Cali, esp Southern Cali, we have seasons here and they do not. Winters are usually in the 20s-30s, and in July and August it can reach the high 90s with high humidity.

I'd also like this feature, because climate differences between where I live (Northeeast Ohio) and places like the south and west have a huge effect on my mileage. I'd like to know how I'm doing compared to others with the same model, but it's not fair for me to compare myself to someone in the south who doesn't have to deal with below-freezing temperatures, snow and slush.

How about letting Fuelly members identify their climate from a map like this? http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/climate.htm
Then everyone from a similar climate could be grouped together for comparison. I would love to know what gas mileage other northerners are getting, as mine swings wildly across seasons.
