spam threads

I have seen more and more spam threads on here.

someone has said something about a tab to report these threads to the power that be.

where is it? am I not looking hard enough? maybe I just overlooked it?

if we all work hard to keep spam off of here then the site will remain clean and maybe just maybe, the spammers will get the idea and stop spamming.

thanks for any help

Look below the avatar on a post, where it says "Offline" then to the right there is a little red "X". Click that to report a thread.

I don't know where that goes, but you can CERTAINLY PM (private message) me with a link. I check all threads reported directly to me, and I close many if not most of them.

Yeah, I saw when bobc mentioned the button for reporting posts. Most forums have one, and I thought it was missing here; at first I thought it was the little blue button to the right of "Quote" but that's not it. When bobc mentioned it I looked harder and started clicking things and found it.

It's badly placed and not obvious. It looks like it has something to do with contacting the user...

Anyway, just to be perfectly clear, it's this button:

We're working on some redesign of the site, and I'll keep this in mind. It's really not too hard to make a button that says "Report Post" and get it in.

Thanks for the feedback. We apologize for the slowness of getting the site cleaned up, but once we get started hopefully the pieces will fall in place.

honestly, I can't complain. the site is free and I have learned a lot from the site and use the functions like the gas log for my own purposes. I really like the graph for that. not something I could easily do myself. I guess I could put it into an excel spread sheet but now I don't have to.

all and all, I really like the site and kudos to whomever came up with the idea of this kind of forum.

I try to be a positive poster on here as well, in a way kind of giving back

thanks again

That's a setup in the vBulletin software. I'm a moderator in another vBulletin forum and when someone clicks the report post link I get the following in my email inbox:
