Vehicle Photo Upside Down

Just tried uploading a picture of my motorcycle and it uploaded upside down. Tried rotating the picture to be upside down on my computer then upload it hoping it would rotate it right side up on the profile, but still upside down.

Try attaching it again and if it's still upside down we can fix it here from our end.

Please post back here if it's still upside down so we know you still need help.

I went in and fixed it. If it somehow flips again, let us know.

FYI, and for anyone who finds this thread in the future, it is most likely an issue of which type of rotation was done. There are two kinds:

1. EXIF tag rotation. The image is not changed, but a small piece of data is added that commands programs that display it to rotate it before displaying. This is done automatically by modern cameras and phones.

2. Actual rotation of the photo. The pixels are each repositioned so that it is rotated.

Some programs (such as the back-end to this site and the web browser that you use to view it) may or may not obey EXIF tags, so things can get confusing. When you run into this issue in general, the solution is to use a program that actually rotates the photo, and also use a program that strips EXIF metadata.

Yeah, I just downloaded the photo, flipped it with Microsoft Photo Viewer, saved it, then uploaded it back to the server.
