Depend on Honda to solve Ethanol problems

Well here it is, read for yourself. A newly released article by Honda states that they have achiveved what everyone else couldn't do with Ethanol...

Biomass - a.k.a. make the overall CO2 output less than gasoline...not from corn, dont worry about going yellow.

http://world.honda.com/news/2006/c06...ulosicBiomass/

...and now today they released two new FFV models in Brazil that can run off 100% ethanol and achieve the same fuel efficeincy and BETTER power!

Finally, someone's taking advantage of the higher octane of ethanol to get better efficiency.

this is the first

This is the first time I have seen anything from Honda on FFV...and basically, It looks like GM is going to go home pouting. I dont really feel sorry for them loosing millions. They just aren't smart enough.

Was it you who showed me this article way back when? I'm forgetting but I feel like I saw it a while back.

Good stuff, nonetheless.

you guys know how they do this right?

they cater to the ethanol by raising the compression ratio such that it is perfect for the right amount of ignition timing. it becomes a 'flex-fuel' car by retarding the crap out of the ignition when it begins to sense a little knock. the reason it gets better mpg with ethanol is because it is designed for ethanol. gasoline still has more btus.

kudos to honda for doing it right though. they up the cr instead of leaning out the afr
