Well, on the bright side, at least your car engine warms up faster to give you better MPG, R.I.D.E.!

I had to slog through that today pulling a gross weight of 76,500lb. My cooling system was nonplussed but did the job. Right around the VA/WV line, I was starting to pick up enough heat that I thought I might have to pull over - the fan on/off cycling wasn't keeping up, but it started to level off. AC was a champ though, my vent thermometer never climbed more than 5*.

On the downside, I got just north of 5.5mpg from Nitro, WV, to Raphine, Va, a 220 mile trip which took 4 hours almost on the dot.

Yesterday I drove 10 miles without turning on the AC because the car sits in the garage and the interior temperature was 70 degrees. On the return trip with the AC running the MPG dropped by close to 10.

I loves da hot weather. When it's hot, I dream about below zero weather. Then in the below zero, I dream about the 100+ weather. It's all wonderful. I cook, so I can freeze, so I can cook again. Life's wonderful.
