1995 Honda Civic CX Identification

might go check out a civic tomorrow and would like to know how to id a stock CX. here's the ad...http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/2968265777.html

i really don't want another 40mpg civic especially for his asking price, altho ill try to get him down. i'd like a potentially higher mpg vehicle like what the CX offers.

here's another(a 1997) that doesn't show an under hood pic...http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/2968042107.html

Re: 1995 Honda Civic CX Identification

what i can gather so far is that the head on the CX is an 8 valve, so the valve cover should not say "16 valve" and it should have a SIL(shift indicator light).

what engine code?

edit: found it...D15B8

nice car, runs great, clean interior, headers, no tach?, cold a/c, has an exhaust "rattle", $4000 is a bit much. what would be a fair offer?

Re: 1995 Honda Civic CX Identification

I would pay $2,800 to $3,200 if it's bone stock, original 146k miles and had regular oil changes. I could hypermile it to 58 mpg with the right tires and light mods.

Re: 1995 Honda Civic CX Identification

i'm thankful someone finally responded.

it does have very new tires on si wheels, cold a/c, alarm w/ after market power locks, new tint, and new, but a very generic paint job.

thinking about $3500 w/ the wheels, $3k without.

again, thank you for your input cems70!

Re: 1995 Honda Civic CX Identification

he says his best offer is $3800...says he has all receipts(honda oem parts) and the alarm was $350 alone.

while he thinks about my offer ill be looking at an HX and a corolla both newer and for $3k and under!
