Somehow I'm reminded of the saying.

Power is how hard you hit the wall, torque is how much of the wall you take with you

That is just crazy. I always know the clearance of the vehicle I'm driving.

The story the guy told the cops was he was circling around to the other side of the bank to park and he clipped the corner...him and his 10 year old son both escaped out the passenger side somehow?!?!

It didn't land square on the cab, it just caught the edge of it.

Now that you mention that, I notice you can watch the side mirror get knocked all the way to the ground... I think (could be wrong), that if a substantial portion of the cab were involved, we would see a lot more of the side of the truck and not the mirror and a scrap or two. I also suspect that it would slow down that fall a lot more--it takes a huge amount of force to smash a pickup truck, and I don't think those bank overhangs are that heavy.

Yeah, looks like it just ripped the side off it.

I've seen the video in better resolution and not sped-up, and I saw the aftermath pictures from different angles; that's how I know it only caught the edge of the truck. It did transmit a lot of weight to the truck, though -- even in the GIF you can see the frame of the truck bend and the whole truck hit the ground.
