Yesterday, I started back at my old office after being a home-based/contractor for a few years. They were like,
"Do you still have that EVO, man that car was fast".
I respond,
"Nope, I've changed my ways".
"Bwhaat!"
"Yup, I'm into efficiency now"
"Ah, it looks like you got Married since the last time we saw you
"
"Yup, but that's not the whole story..."
The conversation goes into GS, etc. They looked shocked and disappointed, like I was the company-sponsored race driver (which I guess I kinda was). They'll soon conform (insert the "Dr. Evil" laugh here, and that pinky finger gesture). I'll have people playing "Fantasy Hypermiling" people you know it.

On a finer note a co-worker spotted the Metro in the parking lot at work and as soon as he came in he said, "That car has got to be yours." I think people are now stereotyping me as a "GasSaver" person......
