It's ok Matt...you can say yall.

I think the users building the database would be easiest since it sounds like once again too much bureaucracy fouls things up.

agreed. simpler to let the

agreed. simpler to let the users enter their own epa figures. selecting from a db would be slick, but it's a big job to set up.

I'm still going back and forth on it. If I convert all of the "spaces" to another character (I used the + sign) I can very easily sort the data. With PHP I can probably set up a function to convert the data to a MySQL table in about 20 minutes. Assuming the data is consistent among the years (or similar) it shouldn't be too difficult. I'll think about it more today.

I just spend an hour or so

I just spend an hour or so coding a PHP function to load the data. I now have 1984-1997 into a MySQL table. I still need to format it a bit, but I have year, make, model, displacement, city mpg, highway mpg, total mpg, and any extra notes the EPA included to distinguish between the models.

Later tonight I'll work on 98-2006, which should be extremely easy.

I have data from 85-2006

I have data from 85-2006 loaded into the database. Now I need to clean it. There are almost 25000 entries between those years. I'm certain that there are a number of duplicates, so I'll be coding a few things to remove them as well.

Would it be possible to paste the whole thing into an excel spreadsheet? I would like to have it for reference.

I'll make that for you as soon as it's all cleaned up.
