Food Costs

just wondering what frugal people (that would be most of us i believe) spend on food costs per month. specifically, what do you spend per person, just so it's a semi-level playing field.

please include drinks and eating out, if you would. thanks.

Re: Food Costs

About $60/mo if I don't eat out; of course going out even 2x/mo blows that outta the water. Most of the time I can keep my eating out bill to $10-$15/person, non-fast food places of course. There was a time when I frequented McDs and BK for their dollar menu stuff but the item I liked at McD went away and I just plain lost interest in the BK deal so now it's back to my "normal" of hardly going to fast food places at all.

I figure my "fixed" expenses (food, fuel, utilities, taxes, insurance, etc.) to be $6/day and oftentimes total monthly expenses are under $330.

impressive clencher! you're killing me except for eating out. often times, being a delivery guy, i get a hook-up at the casual dining places--outback, longhorns, olive garden and such. but i do not take advantage of that too often.

Re: Food Costs

Just guessing, but I'd say easily $250/per person. If I were on my own I could eat much cheaper...
