Going Vegan!

Oi vey, this is tough stuff. I've been carefully tracking all the animal products I intake, and just now I've switched officially to non-dairy creamer in my coffee. I'm slowly on the build up to where I have complete control over my diet (if I went vegan now my mom wouldn't have anything to eat), but, does anyone have any tips on recipes and such that aren't a pain?

Dartmouth will have a vegan menu for eats all the time, as well as a store to buy food at, so yay, I can eat and make vegan stuff, but I'm wondering what I can cook myself easily that won't suck after I haul it the four floors back up to my dorm?

Thanks homies.

PS: I'll show off my dorm lat0rz.

I'll ask my wife. We usually eat 3 vegetarian/vegan meals per week. She has all sorts of cookbooks.

Ooh neat. Thanks for the link.

Matt, is there any particular reason for you meal habits or is it coincidental?

We just don't want to be eating big meat all of the time. We'll still eat fish and chicken, but rarely pork or beef. We're just trying to stay healthy.

Ah, healthy people...

There's vegan cream cheese! Oh my gosh I need to try and make some to see if I loves it. Cream cheese might be the hardest thing for me to go without as school = 2-3 bagels a day, cheap and yummy.

Anyway, some of these recipes look great, and healthy as well. I've never really cared about my health but I know if I go vegan I'm going to have to start or I'll end up dead,

Humus is a great substitute for cream cheese.

Humus eh? I'm not very worldly about foods. I'll have to take my friend to the store with me.

I love Humus. Every time we go smoke hooka we get a plate of rice, chicken, all kinds of veggies and humus. Humus tastes so good on bread.
