How do you post a pic

How do you post a picture under your name (avatar)? I go to my member edit page and when I try to put the URL in it tells me the file is not a picture. I've tried it with just the URL and also with img tags with no luck.

First of all, make sure that the file you have IS an image. (JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.)

I'm unsure if this software lets you hotlink to offsite avatars. You'll have ot download the avatar to your computer and then upload it to gassavers.
