How many miles do you have on your car/truck?

I bought my vx w/238k on it. Engine smoked a little bit, so I pulled it. It still ran fine and got amazing mileage, as it should.

W/just some rings, and maybe some valve seals, I'm sure that motor would have been good for a lot more miles.

I'm still running the tranny which now has over 250k mi on it. THe input shaft bearing is starting to chatter when it's cold, so it's about time for that to be replaced.

The reason they input shaft bearing always goes bad in the D series trannies, is due to they are the highest bearing in the case, take a lot of stress and heat, and when the tranny fluid gets at all low, it's the first to be affected. THankfully it's a real easy replacement job which requires no special tools at all.

I've got 169K on my CRX HF. Runs great and with regular maintance it will run forever. I just picked up a few tune up pieces at the Honda dealer while I got my $9.95 oil change there this afternoon!

Bought my '91 Civic DX with 135k on it. Now has 261k. Replaced the timing belt once (regular maintenance, it's due for another one) and had to replace the distributor. Engine and 5MT are original. Runs great. Doesn't burn oil. Florida car so the body is still good.

I've got a rusted-out '91 LX (with 225k on it) ready to donate a drivetrain if anything happens.

308k on my 1990 crx original engine...2nd transmission, though i must add it was only the bearings that were bad in the transmission, mostly because i never changed the transmission oil.

i'm looking to hit 400,000 miles then buy a S2000 as my reward. They should be cheap enough for me by then.

My '89 CRX HF has 238K miles on the original engine (and original trans as far as I know)....the car runs great. Big thing with the Honda 5-speeds to look out for is the transmission bearings, since people love to beat them.

**On an even better note, my '88 300zx Turbo SS has 280K miles on it...with the original engine (and original turbo), original trans...and even original CLUTCH !! The car still runs great & pulls hard.

well 2nd thing decided to take a dump or was about to. alternator bearings wer egettin noisey so i was goign to just replace those, till i noticed the field coil shelac on the wire was flakign off, inotherwords just asking for a short then it frys...

so i got a rebuilt with lifetime warranty for $100 and its been fine.

My 1991 Geo has 164k...still going strong, uses maybe a quart and a half between oil changes. Only leak is from left seal on the transaxle, I probably nicked the seal changing the axle.

Best GM car...1979 Chevette...sold it at about 260k and it still ran. Most GM cars I've had died around 150k.

Highest mileage I've owned: 1985 Lincoln Continental...w/Ford 302 engine...went 400k then finally wore out. But it got 20+ mpg...

Probably because it was maintained on the severe service schedule. Standard schedule probably doesn't have tranny fluid changes.

heh yea i dont know how many miles my chevette has (doesnt have the 100K place) it could be 61K or 161k, from the looks its possible 61k and when i had the head off it looked newinside, some carbon buildup but nothign extravagant. interior is like new yet the carpet went to hell.

but it starts and runs in any weather condition and rides pretty smooth.
