How To Fix A Leaky Bunn

The 'perviously owned' BUNN coffee maker we inherited from gramma developed a leak.
A small puddle formed behind it during brewing so I figured I'd fix the small leak before it became a big leak.

Remove top, then remove screws and hollow bolt holding water-filling tray to the warming tank.
The crud on the left is mud, the right is mineral build-up.
They apparently poured old coffee in it....

Cracked, rotted plastic, caused by constant heat of hot water tank.............................................. ...That stayed on the tank.

Now we are ready to repair.

Mineral build-up inside the warming tank. Black minerals? Methinks the housekeeper recycled coffee. It was so hard I couldn't scrape or chisel it away.

What else.

There!

Filled with water and checked for leaks. Ready to close and

It now leaks 2-cups.

Priceless.

The $30.00 solution:

Arrived yesterday.

3-minute coffee vs 15-minute coffee.
But the counter is dry!

Where I used it was where the cold water enters the hot water tank. It dries hard, so I doubt there is more than the slightest leaching, if any.
