I have 2 riders both with Kohler engines and 2 walk behind push mowers 1 with a Briggs & Stratton and the other with a Tecumseh. The Kohlers are great engines and I prefer the Briggs & Stratton over the Tecumseh.

Re: Lawn Mower Poll

still have not moved(soon we hope), so i have not tried the new mower yet. gotta say my impeccable bad timing continues...tractor supply has 2 mowers on clearance(1 briggs and 1 kohler). both 5 horse for 129.99.

no doubt, i could have come up w/ a TS coupon to sweeten the deal as well. oh well...

Re: Lawn Mower Poll

well ya know...

mine is superior, and besides a restocking fee would likely apply--it's was a non stocking item.

Re: Lawn Mower Poll

I have that EXACT mower that I traded a riding mower with issues to the local Husqvarna lawn mower shop. NO problems. Once you get used to the choke it is flawless. Mine has the Honda engine - that's a Honda, right?

The choke needs to be set. It will stay set forever until you squeeze the handle to turn it on so you can pull start it, then it starts to creep. That's it! Just pull the string right after the safety handle gets squeezed and it starts first time, every time, unless I forget to prime it occasionally - then it's 2 pulls.

HUGE gas tank, HUGE gas cap - big capacity, it's way better than ANY Briggs & Stratton I've ever used. You should LOVE it.

Re: Lawn Mower Poll

it's the kohler engine--the honda option was more than i wanted to pay. do you notice less noise and more economy over the briggs?
